03 May 2010 Postponement of circumnavigation

Michael With much regret we have to announce that we are going to postpone our circumnavigation. Guinness Book of World Records recently changed their rules regulating our record attempt. The rules are not the same as when we first applied for the completion of this world record attempt. Therefore, now we have to make adjustments to optimise our circumnavigation in order to achieve the fastest circumnavigation possible under the new rules.

08 March 2010 Back from Training Camp

Michael After almost 7 weeks on beautiful Fuerteventura Michael has returned to German winter. Now it will be important to remain healthy and keep the cranks turning...

10 February 2010 Website now available in Russian

Logo The long waiting has an end. Finally, after many hours of hard work, we can happily announce that the permanent content on our website will from this day onwards be available in Russian!

8 February 2010 Competing rider: Vin Cox

Logo The competition is not sleeping. Yesterday the British cyclist Vin Cox set off from London in an attempt to circumnavigate the world by bicycle in record time. His goal is a total time of 150 days. Vin is a competitive cyclo-cross rider and has some adventure touring experience. He has chosen an adventurous route through Africa and South America, though it remains to be seen whether it can be travelled in 150 days.
Obviously we will follow his progress and keep you updated about anything exciting. We wish him the best of luck!
To check out his website go to www.greatbikeride.com.

4 February 2010 Spot Live Tracking Test

Logo Michael used his day off to test the Spot Personal Tracker. He drove around Fuerteventura by car and the tracker recorded his position at mostly 10-20 minutes intervals. It is quite an amazing little device when considering that it connects with a satellite directly and the respective GPS position gets posted to the website almost instantly! Additionally, even in cloudy conditions, despite some delays in the transfer of information, it worked sufficiently reliable.
To have a look at the test journey and how the live tracking map is going to look like, click here.

1 February 2010 Website now available in German

Logo As promised earlier last month, we have made an effort in making our website available to a larger audience. As of today the permanent content of the website is going to be available in German.
Within the next two weeks we hope to add a Russian language version.
